When working with Quikwood, blend small quantities at a time. The clay will be cured in about 20 min.
If you are working with small gourds, I recommend drilling a hold (where it will not show), insert a piece of dowel, and stick this in a scrap of sytrofoam. This will give you a handle to hold as you paint and will hold the gourd up as the paint or clay dries.
Waterless hand cleaner works great to clean your hands and tools after working with Quikwood. I have also found that applying petroleum jelly hand cream will keep the Quikwood from sticking to your hands. Apply this as you would a little hand cream.
Use a piece of plexiglass or glass(be careful of sharp edges) for a work surface. Keep it exclusively for your clay so you don't pick up stray bits in you clay.
If you need to reattach a piece of clay (especially snowman nose) use a strong adhesive such as Liquid Nails - clear.
In some of my earlier patterns I used oven bake clay. I have since discovered Quikwood which needs no baking. I also refer to clay in most patterns - meaning Quikwood or product you prefer.
